NEWSLETTER: May Showers Bring May Flowers?

Rain.  Today marks 12 days in a row the DC area has had rain fall leaving us feeling like we're in Seattle (or anywhere in the Pacific Northwest we guess--which we're visiting this summer, yay!).  While it's been wet for a while we're quite busy, entering wedding season, and counting down the weeks until Sara is done with another school year.  In our newsletter we have some show announcements as well as some shared photos from our trip to New England in March.

Promo Time!

There's always shows.  So time to note a new spot, old spot, and festival involving dogs this month.

Thursday, May 12th "Return to Fireflies" 7-9pm
Fireflies Alexandria, VA

This is a spot which has seen music come and go in the last few years.  All the while they have a great stage, food, and we enjoy playing at this Del Ray neighborhood restaurant.  Join in and we'll bring out some originals as we usually do here.

Sunday, May 15th "Pups 'N Pints" 1-3pm
Dogfish Head Fairfax, VA

It may be odd that cat people are playing a dog fundraiser.  But we respect all animals and this one is for a great cause in the name of rescuing dogs.  Music will be all day and we play early afternoon.

Friday, May 20th "Another World of Beer" 9pm-12am
World Of Beer One Loudoun Ashburn, VA

Yes, another WOB (as it's known) has opened with it's 50 taps and over 500 beers.  This one's in the newly built One Loudoun and the FarAway Trio is ready to rock this stage, just as we have the other two in Northern Virginia.

Our Travels: New England

If you haven't gathered by now, we've been in travel mode ever since the day we met.  Over "spring break" in March (we're using that term loosely since it felt like winter) we spent a week up in New England, hitting Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.  It was Sara's first time seeing other spots in New England besides Boston where she'd been before, and we got in a little bit of everything: the sea, the country, and the city.  Plus Brian got to show her the University of Massachusetts where he went to college.

You can check out some of our photos from the trip which involved many craft breweries and great food.  Gotta try the local stuff wherever you go!

We Got Props (from a band we love)

Recently we took in a live concert and decided to risk standing up right next to the band up front.  The band is a favorite of ours called The Wild Feathers, who we highly recommend checking out (they're like the Eagles on harmonies with a modern southern rock/slightly pop sound).  After the show we met their guitarist Taylor--who after we said we covered their hit song "The Ceiling" recognized us from doing the song on Facebook Live during Snowzilla (we tagged them in the post).  Of course we nerded out upon hearing this and were very grateful to know a great band checked their own social media!

We hope to see you out there at a show soon and don't forget we can do private events outdoors now....once it stops raining of course.  Also we're planning on doing another from our home Facebook Live feed concert at some point, so look for that.  Stay dry out there!

Much love,
Sara & Brian
